The Community First Initiative Project
Community First young people got involved in a Clean Up! Project. This came about when young people participated in the OCN Go-Kart Project, part of the project was held in the courtyard area of the community centre, this was in a poor state, there was overgrown foliage/weeds etc, litter and General rubbish, there was graffiti on the walls.
A cohort decided that it needed to be cleaned up, six young people participated (three did not want their photographs taken). Space is now more accessible and functional, adding another versatile space for the community to access.
They were absolutely amazing, fully committed and very mature. They did a great job. Projects like this show that young people do care about their communities and are willing to make a change. Community First Initiative would like to thank all the young people that participated.
