WLVCF Back on Track Thanks to the Support of the City of Wolverhampton Council

I am thrilled to announce that Wolverhampton Community First (WLVCF) is back in action, thanks to the incredible support from the City of Wolverhampton Council. As a volunteer-led initiative, we have always been committed to providing young people in our community with the skills, training, and opportunities they need to thrive.

One of our most successful programs, the entry-level Motor Maintenance course, has made a real impact on the lives of local young people, particularly those who have been at risk or involved in anti-social behavior. By combining practical experience with theoretical learning — and adding an exciting go-kart element — we’ve created a course that has now run successfully six times, helping our youth find new passions and positive pathways.

Recently, we faced a significant setback when both of our go-karts were stolen, which forced us to put the course on hold. It was a challenging moment for us, but we were determined not to give up. That’s when the City of Wolverhampton Council stepped in and provided the funding needed to purchase new go-karts.

We are incredibly grateful to Councillor Stephen Simkins and the council for recognizing the importance of our work and for supporting us when we needed it most. This funding means we can continue to deliver our Motor Maintenance course and keep helping young people in Wolverhampton to build their skills, gain confidence, and work towards brighter futures.

At WLVCF, we believe that every young person deserves a chance to achieve their potential, and with the support of our community and partners, we are committed to making that happen. We’re excited to get back to work, and we look forward to seeing our young people racing ahead once again!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and our mission. Together, we are making a difference.
